Gail Ione Walsh

Gail Ione Walsh age 73 of Seaside, Oregon passed away February 9, 2014 in Seaside with her husband by her side. Gail was born May 19, 1940 to Robert William & Ione Elwilda (Danielson) Raforth in Gaylord, Minnesota. In 1958 she married Robert James Walsh in Portland, Oregon. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Walsh earned a Bachelor of Arts from Portland State University & a Master of Arts from the University of Portland. She began her career by teaching for 10 years at Vestal Elementary School in Portland, Oregon. Later the family moved to Seaside, Oregon where they resided for 40 years. Gail taught at Gearhart Elementary School in Gearhart, Oregon for 20 years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed gardening and was in the Garden Club of Seaside. Mrs. Walsh was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" James Walsh of Seaside, Oregon. Her son Brian James Walsh of Troutdale, OR. & Son & daughter-in-law Kevin Robert & Kellie Renee Walsh of Warrenton, OR. Granddaughter Cristina Marie-Ann Grad of Gresham, Oregon. Great grandson Marcus Andrew Grad of Gresham OR. Granddaughter Taylor Renee Walsh of Warrenton, OR. Grandson Brent Robert Walsh of Warrenton, OR. Granddaughter Jessica Gail Walsh of Troutdale. OR. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 1014 at 2:00 PM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon. A reception will follow at the church. Vault interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Seaside, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
