Glenn G Meier

Glenn (Glenny) Meier, 81, passed away on Sep 1, 2012. He was born on Nov 3, 1930 to Edwin and Olga Meier in Clatskanie, OR. After graduating from Jewell High School, he served 4 years in the Air Force followed by 4 years of Air Force Reserve. After completing his obligation to the Air Force, Glenn came home and ran the family saw mill with his brothers.
During the course of his life, Glenn sawmilled, worked in the woods, and raised beef cattle on the family farm. Glenn was a lifelong member of the Clatsop County Livestock Association and the Oregon State Grange Association.
Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Olga, his brothers, Don and Kenneth, his newphew, John and his great nephew, Tyler Sutherland. He is survived by his nephew, Karl Meier (Denise), his nieces Lisa Carkin (Jim) and Lorrie Sutherland (Brian), great nieces and nephews, Kyle Meier (Kelsey), Matt Meier (Jamie), Tim Meier, Amber Meier, Brian Meier (Renee) and Angie Petsu (Kevin), Jared Carkin (Stephanie), Andrew Carkin, Nick Carkin (Rachael), Anna Oeffner (Scott) and Alex Sutherland. Great grand-nieces and nephews Keegan, Sammy, Ellie, Emma, Ethan, Lilly, Gunner, Ruger, Wyatt and Avrie.
Graveside service for Glenn will be Saturday, Sep 8th at 1pm at the Jewell Cemetery. Potluck to follow the service at the Jewell School Cafeteria. Family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn's memory can be made to Clatsop County Livestock Association Scholarship Fund
