August 10, 1940 — April 19, 2024

Seaside

On April 19, 2024 Janet passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Born on August 10, 1940 in Philipsburg, MT she attended local schools graduating from High School in 1958. She married Harvey Packard in 1960 a year after they met in Seattle.

The couple have two children, Heidie born 1962 and Brent born 1964.

Harvey made a career of the Coast Guard and the family was stationed in St. Louis, MO, Eureka, CA, New Bedford, MA, Honolulu, HI, Astoria, OR, and New York, NY before Harvey retired in 1979. Upon his retirement the family moved to Londonderry, New Hampshire where Janet worked as a bookkeeper and financial assistant at Centronics and later at Velcro. Harvey taught history at Calvary Christian School in Derry, NH.

Janet made friends easily, constantly sharing adventures.

Along the way Janet became an accomplished painter, art teacher, and quilter. As an artist she produced dozens of oil paintings. She loved to read, purchasing most of the Readers Digest Condensed Books.

In Astoria she worked for a florist and later at Job Corps and volunteered at the Liberty Theatre as well as helping with Cruise Ship welcoming. She absolutely enjoyed it all.

Janet will be laid to rest in Philipsburg, MT.

She was a member of Lewis and Clark Bible Church in Astoria.

Donations, in her name, may be made to Lewis and Clark Bible Church, St. Labre Indian School in Montana, or The Salvation Army.
