Jimmy Cole

Jimmy Edward Cole of Seaside Oregon, born June 2, 1948, passed August 26, 2023. Jim was the third of seven children born to Roy and Mary Cole who preceded him in death. He is survived by a brother Roger Cole, and sisters Shirleen Hutchens, Diane Schafer, Patty Boehm and Judy Knapp. Brother Fred Cole preceded him in death.

While never married, Jim was a beloved son, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend to many whose wit and caring easily enduring him to all he met. Jimmy was a very gifted and decorated 4 sport letterman athlete who excelled in football, basketball, golf and baseball winning all league honors in each sport as well as All State in baseball. If there was a ball, Jimmy would play. He graduated with honors from Seaside High School and Portland State University.

Much of his life was devoted to helping kids in need. He had a passion for learning and was eager to teach any and all. Spending much of his later years as an unofficial historian of Seaside, he was very active on Facebook. Jimmy was a very kind, unselfish and empathetic being who enjoyed a simple austere life with his many friends and family. A truly nice person who cared for others.
